What does a day entail?
The first order of business is to pull the orders off the internet that came in during the night. Get the pouring pots primed and prepared for pouring, and get either the jars or the molds lined up and ready to go.
All of our empty Candle Jars are delivered to Self Help Enterprises to be wicked and labeled, before we bring them back to the manufacturing facility to be poured.
We believe in supporting our community in every way possible! And very much appreciate what the folks at Self Help can do to help us! We couldn't do it without them.

With the growth we have experienced, we have moved the candle business 3 times since 2001 to accomodate our growing manufaturing and warehousing needs. We have been fortunate to have found a home at the Small Business Technology Center in Sterling, IL, managed by the Great Sterling Develoment Corporation. This opportunity has allowed us the ability to expand our facilities to serve our customers even better! This includes dock services for bringing raw materials in, and shipping large quantities out-bound.
What is Self Help Enterprises?
Self Help is a non-profit organization that makes it possible for people of all types of disability to work and find fulfillment and meaning in their lives! From the most severly challenged, these wonderful people find a way to make every day count.
Once the jars are poured, we cut the wicks, put the lids on, and separate for fund raiser distribution. These 74 cases are ready to ship out. We ship UPS and LTL, with each fragrance separated by case.
That's our shop in a nutshell! We'll add new pictures as we get things settled and organized in our new facility. In July, 2007, we doubled our space from 1500 sqft to over 3000 sqft, and we're ready to serve our customers to the very best of our abilities!
We are a family owned and operated candle manufacturing facility located in Sterling, IL, the Northwest corner of Illinois. We started Bushel Basket Candle April 1, 2001, never imagining that things would get this far. But here we are.
Our company has been built on a strong desire to offer our customers a truly well-constructed candle, with exceptional fragrance qualities, for an affordable price that the every day family can afford. We quickly realised that our philosphy could be applied to Fund Raisers as well, and that a need for profitable, simple, affordable fund raisers was great.
